“The series is about the American dream, especially through the eyes of immigrants,” the actor told The Independent. He said that if the show were released today, it would address what the U.S. is doing to immigrants.
“The fact is that all of these characters are immigrants, but I think many of them would probably be Trump supporters, as strange as that may sound,” Michael Imperioli concluded.
“So how would they reconcile those things? When Italians came here — and people forget that, or don’t want to see it — many of them were undocumented,” recalled the star of ‘The White Lotus’.
Michael Imperioli, an outspoken supporter of the Democratic Party, has previously used his character from the series to post messages in support of Joe Biden during the 2020 election.
In an Instagram post, he joked about Donald Trump, saying the president would have behaved badly at the series’ strip club, Bada Bing.
